Recipient of the 2022 FFI McKenzie Cup
An award, given annually to that FFI Club which has made the most
outstanding contribution on behalf of the FFI.
The Fly Fishers of Northwest Florida was founded in 1984. Our core mission is to assist people of all ages to learn and enjoy the sport of fly fishing. We are passionate about all aspects of the sport from fly tying and fly casting to the conservation and improvement of local fishing waters. FFNWF is proud to have a long affiliation with the Fly Fishers International. Our organization shares many like minded goals with the FFI and we encourage all of our members to join. The club is also proud of our involvement and sponsoring of the local chapter of Project Healing Waters which is a national non-profit organization that works with disabled active military personnel and disabled veterans. The program is dedicated to providing both physical and emotional rehabilitation through the education of fly fishing/tying and associated activities. For more information on the local chapter of Project Healing Waters please click on the link above in the navigation bar. We look forward to sharing the many aspects of this sport and art form with you and hope you enjoy and take advantage of our many activities. For any questions about our organization & how to join, please feel free to contact us using the form on the contact page of our site. Remember tight lines and the tug is the drug!
"As we are starting to get out to fish and enjoying our beaches and rivers I want to remind folks to be aware and help protect our fish and wildlife.
When walking along the beach or a river bank and you see discarded fishing line please pick it up and dispose of it properly. Discarded fishing line is not only an environmental hazard - it can kill fish and wildlife as it did to this Blue Heron. (This Heron was so weak from malnutrition it was unable to recover and died a couple days after I took this photo.)" - Larry Sisney
