A Fond Farewell to Jim White -
For those of you who aren’t aware, Jim and Katherine White will be departing the Pensacola area and relocating to the beautiful Shenandoah hill country of Virginia. While Jim and Katherine are
excited about the move as it will bring them closer to family, it will be
bittersweet for us here at FFNWF. Jim has been one of the most dedicated and ardent members of our club and his signature is on so many of the good things this club stands for. He will perhaps be most remembered for his leadership and management of the “ “Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing” program and he will likewise be missed by those many veterans he served.
Fair winds and following seas, dear friend..

Fly Fishers of Northwest Florida has, since 2011, sponsored the Pensacola program of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. PHWFF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Volunteers from within FFNWF provide the necessary fly fishing expertise and the FFNWF clubhouse provides a meeting location. PHWFF meets three times a month to conduct activities such as fly tying, fly rod building, fly rod casting instruction and education on various aspects of fly fishing in both fresh water and saltwater. Additionally, fishing outings are arranged several times a year in the local area. All activities and the necessary materials/gear are provided at no cost to the disabled veteran participants associated with the program. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing meets each month on the First, Second & Fourth Monday from 930 - 1030 at the Scout House at Miraflores Park in Pensacola (1600 E Belmont Street)
The Board of Trustees for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. recently announced the selection of John Langford as the new CEO replacing Todd DeGrosseilliers. John served in the Marine Corps, as both enlisted and officer, for 23 years, primarily as a Weapons and Sensors Officer in the F-18D Hornet, before retiring in 2009. He completed multiple operational and combat deployments and brings with him an extensive background in Veteran nonprofit leadership focused on sports, wellness, and development / fundraising.
